Eid Mubarak.
I havent been posting much and that is likely to continue. I have applied to a program that lasts some 6 months. It is a ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) program for working with children with Autism.
It will keep me busy until May, but it is well worth it. Insha'Allah, I am accepted to it. If and when I have an interesting story to tell about it.
Have a wonderful Eid.

As Salaamu Alaikum Brother:
How wonderful! Masha Allah! It seems that you would be the perfect one to work with autistic children. May Allah (swt) reward you!
Salaam,
It sounds like this is the same program that you said before that you couldn't afford to send your son to, now YOU are going to learn it so you can teach it to your son (I assume)?! Brother, that is just awesome. Best of luck to you. I am sure it will not be easy, esp if you're already working, but it's a noble aim!
Are you then going to switch careers altogether?
This sounds very interesting.
ABA therapy is really expensive and our insurance doesnt currently cover it. He gets some in the pre-school program he is a part of, but not enough.
I am hoping to take it to help Sinan. As to switching to it for a career, no way. Dealing with my own son will be more than enough, I cannot imagine doing it full time at work and at home!
That's exciting news! I hope you really get a lot out of it, and I hope to hear about it.
Today I started my student teaching in an Autistic Support Classroom. I am still sort of overwhelmed and I've only been observing.
